Repacks Troubleshoot#
Repacks may encounter various error codes during installation from sources like DODI, FitGirl, EMPRESS, etc. Below is a comprehensive list of error codes along with potential fixes to help resolve your issues.
Error Codes#
Note: Error code 11 is NOT typically on "YOUR" end. If the repack works for everyone else, consider re-checking the files or if the uploader posted an updated Inno Setup.
- Error code -1: Archive files are not found or are corrupted.
- Error code 1: Archive files are not found or are corrupted.
- Error code 2: Incomplete archive file during extraction.
- Error code 6: Insufficient disk space or disk space errors during extraction.
- Error code 7: Insufficient memory or memory errors during extraction.
- Error code 11: Password-protected archive with incorrect or missing password during extraction.
- Error code 12: Corrupted file archive during extraction.
- Error code 14: Damaged or corrupted data block during extraction.
- Error code 15: Missing file or folder during extraction.
- Error code 16: File read error during extraction.
- Error code -6: Disk read error during extraction.
- Error code -7: Disk write error during extraction.
- Error code -8: Unexpected end-of-file during extraction.
- Error code -11: Failed decompression of a file from the archive.
- Error code -12: Failed memory allocation for decompression or your archive files are corrupted.
- Error code -14: Compression method mismatch during decompression.
- Error code -15: Failed file or directory creation during extraction.
- Error code -19: Unexpected end-of-archive during extraction.
- Error code -20: Failed directory creation during extraction.
- Error code -21: Disk write error during extraction.
- Error code -22: File read error during extraction.
- Error code -28: Failed creation of temporary file during extraction.
- Error code -60: Failed creation of temporary directory during extraction.
- Error code -105: Failed memory allocation for decompression.
- Error code -116: Failed file creation during extraction.
- Error code -5001 to -5010: Failed file extraction due to corrupt archive.
- Error code -6001: Failed creation of required folder during installation.
- Error code -6002 to -6007: Failed extraction of required file from corrupt archive during installation.
- Runtime Error: Archive file is corrupted, or you don't have components.
Solutions to the Errors#
Sometimes, you must disable your anti-virus and re-check about 5-6 times for something to happen!
Fixes for Archive Errors#
- Recheck the files via a torrent client and try again.
- Meant for Error Codes: -1, 1, 2, 12, 15, 16, -12, -19, -5001 to -5010
Disk and Memory Errors#
- Check for disk space availability.
- Ensure you have the required redistributables.
- You can find them here.
- Ensure the program has privileges to write in %temp%.
- Run the setup as an administrator or grant Read & Write privileges in %temp%.
This one is just for DODI, if you're using a different repacker, you can skip this one below.
- Adjust thread allocation if necessary.
- For CPUs with many threads, allocate 8 threads instead of 12, 16, 32, etc., if the repack is older than 2020.
- Retry the installation in safe mode if other methods fail.
- Check if your drive is writting data.
- Run Task Manager and run Setup, diagnose your drive that you're installing FROM. If your drive isn't writing data, then your drive is DEAD.
Password-Protected Files#
- Consider rechecking files or checking for an updated setup from the uploader.
- Meant for Error Codes: 11
